Geelong is situated a short 50 minute drive from the capital of Victoria, lively Melbourne and only half an hour from Australia's most renowned beaches located across the Great Ocean Road. Being Victoria's second largest city, Geelong is encompassed with the perfect fusion of urban life, integrated with the benefits of a coastal township. Geelong's climate remains consistent depending on the seasons throughout the year. February is the warmest month with July being the coolest.  Westerly winds, variable clouds, hot summers and mildly cold winters are typical amongst the seasons.

Avalon Airport - Located 15km from the city centre. Avalon is currently a domestic airport. 

Trains - A number of train stations are located throughout suburbs within Geelong, the most closely situated being Geelong station. Trains run through to Melbourne and numerous rural towns across Victoria. 

Ports & Ferry Services - Port Phillip Ferries began operating a charter between Portarlington and Docklands, Melbourne in late 2016. In addition, from August 2018 the Geelong waterfront has been doing daily trips to Melbourne also, making it more accessible to people that live in the city. 

Bus & Taxi - A bus network covering the city centre and most surrounding suburbs provides public transport throughout Geelong. Furthermore, taxi and uber services are also available to individuals within and surrounding Geelong. 



A wide array of bars, restaurants and festivals are held throughout the year and scattered across the city. The royal Geelong show, Geelong after dark, a day on the green and Pako Festa, are just a few of the family events that are held annually.  Various bars are showcased throughout the city centre, showcasing live bands, culturally inspired cuisine and exhibiting local art. In addition, the waterfront provides an art inspired walking trail, showcasing the historical architecture of Geelong, exhibitions being held and the renowned Baywalk Bollards.
